At Carrenza we believe that we are a part of the communities that we support and that we exist in. As a result we believe we should give back to those communities and make sure we do only things which don’t conflict with our corporate principles.
We have clearly defined environmental, social and employment policies which govern the way in which we operate and the impact we have on the world around us.
Charity
At Carrenza we have always believed we can use the knowledge and technology we have built up for more than just making profits. We have always supported campaigns and charities whose values we share and we continue to do so.
Environment
Carrenza recognises that its operations can impact both directly and indirectly on the environment. Our goal is to protect the environment through good management and by adopting best practice throughout our organisation. We work to integrate environmental considerations into our business decisions, consultancy and client solutions. All our employees are responsible for working towards our objectives which include complying with all relevant regulations, preventing pollution, reducing waste, saving energy, recycling and identifying and managing environmental risks and hazards. We also work closely with all our clients, suppliers and partners to achieve these goals and promote environmentally responsible behaviour.
Recycling Policy
Internally, Carrenza operates its day to day activity in an environmentally friendly way – this means we use as little printed material as possible, recycle all our paper, cardboard, bottles and cans and toner cartridges as well as all old office equipment and mobile phones.
We also believe in the principle of ‘recycle, repair or reuse’ to minimise waste. As a result, we purchase high quality second hand furniture for our office and data centre whenever possible.
Energy Consumption and Generation
We use energy efficient light bulbs, turn off all the lights when they are not needed and switch off our computers and screens in the evening. Our power is sourced where possible from renewable supplies and we have an active program of data centre efficiency improvements with a target of 70% utilisation on our own systems by 2010, saving some 50% on current energy requirements.
WEEE Regulations
We fully comply with the WEEE regulations in the manner we dispose of redundant hardware.
Cycle to Work Scheme
Carrenza operates a Cycle to Work Scheme and encourage its team to cycle to work to reduce carbon dioxide emission, as well as keep fit! Almost half of the team is currently cycling or walking to work, we are a healthy bunch!
